Disclosed is a mobile communication terminal which has: a cell search unit (57), which performs cell search with respect to a first (LTE) or a second (3G) mobile communication system; a storage unit (55), which stores a predetermined corresponding relationship (Fig. 4) between the mobile communication system, to which the cell search is to be performed, and the moving speed of the mobile communication terminal; and a moving speed detecting unit (54), which detects the current moving speed of the mobile communication terminal. When reconnection is required prior to completing handover from the first mobile communication system to the second mobile communication system, the cell search unit performs the cell search with respect to the mobile communication system that corresponds to the current moving speed in the corresponding relationship.
