<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument capable of making a highly-precise measurement to reduce measurement errors that occur between the amount of spindle movement displayed on a digital indicator and the amount of actual spindle movement. <P>SOLUTION: A measuring instrument, which measures the dimension of an object to be measured from the amount of spindle movement, includes a main body, a male screw section 31B with multiple threads formation and a rotary spindle that is installed movably in an axial direction in the main body. A projection member 70 contacting with a thread of the male screw section 31B is provided in a position facing the male screw section 31B of the main body.
