<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for producing a mesoporous silica material substantially uniform in pore diameter and having a regular structure by using a self-organization process. <P>SOLUTION: The production method includes: a step of preparing an aqueous solution A containing a silica precursor; a step of preparing an aqueous solution B containing neither an alkali metal hydroxide nor an alkaline earth metal hydroxide and containing a poly(alkylene oxide) triblock copolymer, an acid whose pKa is in a range of 3-9 and, optionally, an alkali salt of an acid whose pKa is in a range of 3-9; and a step of producing a mesoporous silica material substantially uniform in pore diameter and having a regular structure by supplying the aqueous solution A and the aqueous solution B to a slender mixing vessel in such a way that liquid flows of the solutions A, B directly collide with each other, thereby adjusting the pH of the resulting mixture to >2 to <8, generating a reaction product at a temperature of 10-100°C in the mixing vessel, separating the reaction product by filtration, drying it, and removing the surfactant.
