<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a stable braking force even in the case of a high-speed and large-capacity elevator, and to inhibit wear and tear on a surface of a guide rail. <P>SOLUTION: An emergency stop device for an elevator generates the braking force by pressing the guide rail 7, which is installed in a hoistway, with a damper 1 and bringing about a sliding motion, so as to stop an elevator car. The emergency stop device includes a ceramic sheet 42 which is disposed on the sliding surfaces of the guide rail 7 and the damper 1 and formed like a fabric from ceramic fibers, and a supporting body 2 for fixing the ceramic sheet 42 so that an end surface of the ceramic sheet 42 can slide with the guide rail 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
