<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new connector which realizes a relatively small diameter connector enabling smooth connection and disconnection at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A ball housing hole 23, which penetrates from an outer peripheral surface into an inner peripheral surface and elongates in the axial direction, is formed in a tubular member 20. An inner sleeve 30 and an outer sleeve 40, located on the outer side of the tubular member 20, are arranged so as to be movable in the axial direction. When a mating connector 70 is connected, an engaging ball 11 moves from a first position to a second position and moves back to the first position. In the first position, the engaging ball 11 is pressed by an inner projecting portion 41 of the outer sleeve 40 and a part of the engaging ball 11 projects inwardly from the inner peripheral surface of the tubular member 20. In the second position, the engaging ball 11 is positioned near a small diameter inner peripheral surface 42 and a part of the engaging ball 11 does not project from the inner peripheral surface of the tubular member 20. When the mating connector 70 is disconnected, the engaging ball 11 moves from the first position to a third position and moves back to the first position. In the third position, the engaging ball 11 is positioned near another small diameter inner peripheral surface 44 of the outer sleeve 40 and a part of the engaging ball 11 does not project inwardly from the inner peripheral surface of the tubular member 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
