Disclosed is an electronic calculator which incorporates a plurality of types of digit-separated display patterns conforming to a country or a region, in addition to a conventional Western type three-digit separated display pattern, from among which a user can select/set two types of display patterns according to preferences of the user. In addition, the electronic calculator allows the user to freely switch display between both of the two types of digit-separated display patterns which have been selected/set according to user preferences or the scene of use. As a result, it is possible to prevent misreading of digits and to speed-up visibility of the digits (units) and identification time.
