WAVELENGTH SELECTION SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selection switch which can output optical signals in two directions by extending composition for a conventional wavelength selection switch and arranging a direction selection switch.

SOLUTION: The wavelength selection switch comprises: wavelength demultiplexers 411 and 412; wavelength demultiplexers 421 and 422; optical switch arrays 431 and 432 for 2 input 1 output; and an optical switch array 433 for 1 input 2 output. Selection of connecting the optical signals for respective wavelengths that are inputted from individual input ports group to the output port 1 or the output port 2 can be selected by the optical switch array 433. The optical switch array 431 outputs one of the optical signals inputted from the input port 1 and the optical signal inputted from the individual input ports group to the output port 1 by making a selection for every wavelength. The optical switch array 432 outputs one of the optical signals inputted from the input port 2 and the optical signal inputted from the individual input ports group by making a selection for every wavelength to the output port 2.
