LIQUID-CRYSTAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND AND LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition containing a polymerizable compound in which the polymerizable compound has excellent compatibility with liquid crystal materials and which has stabler alignment properties after polymerization and does not cause troubles in display characteristics and a liquid crystal display element provided with liquid crystal alignment capability and having excellent display performance by polymerizing a polymerizable compound contained in a liquid crystal composition.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises a constituent member composed of a polymerizable compound represented by general formula (I) as a first component. The liquid crystal display element uses the liquid crystal composition.
