<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic type electric compressor in which a stator coil of a motor can be switched between serially and parallelly. <P>SOLUTION: The hermetic type electric compressor includes nine current-carrying pins, and six coils disposed in a hermetic container and constituting the winding of the motor. Respective one ends of three coils among the six coils are connected to three current-carrying pins among the nine current carrying pins, the other ends of the three coils are connected into one to constitute a neutral point in the hermetic container.
