<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of a cast slab by reducing the amount of Ar gas bubbles contained in the cast slab to be continuously cast. <P>SOLUTION: Curved parts 11a, 11b curved in a protrusion manner to electromagnetic stirring apparatuses 7a, 7b are formed at the positions opposite to at least immersion nozzles 21 in long side walls 3a, 3b. The long side walls 3a, 3b have a uniform thickness including the curved parts 11a, 11b. The minimum horizontal distance between tops of the curved parts 11a, 11b and the immersion nozzles 21 is ≥30 mm and ≤80 mm in a range from the lower end of the electromagnetic stirring apparatus 7a in the vertical direction to the position higher than the upper end of the electromagnetic stirring apparatus 7a by 50 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
