<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel which enhances sealing effect by preventing the intrusion of rain water, dust or the like and the leakage of differential gear oil and secures the reliability over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: A semi-floating type bearing device for a wheel includes an axle tube H which is inserted inside a drive shaft D/S coupled to a differential and supported on the undersurface of a vehicle body, a hub wheel 1 integrally provided with a wheel mounting flange 6 and a wheel bearing 2 consisting of a double-row rolling bearing fitted between the hub ring 1 and an opening of the axle tube H, wherein an oil repellent treatment film 16 for preventing the leakage of differential gear oil is formed on a side surface 14 on an inner side of a vehicle body mounting flange 4b of an outward member 4, a pilot part 15 and an end surface on an inner side of the wheel bearing 2.
