<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch and a wavelength selection switch that suppress a side lobe caused by multi-luminous flux interference and are high in an extinction ratio. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided input branching units (1104,0006) that branch a light wave (a light signal) input to an input port (1102), a phase shifter unit (1110) that modulates a phase of the light wave branched by the input branching unit and output multiplexing units (1206,1204) that multiplex the light wave modulated by the phase shifter unit to output to M output ports (1202). M is an integer equal to or more than 2 and N is the integer equal to or more than M and equal to or more than 3. The input branching unit includes input branching means that branches the light wave input from the input port to N light waves and N input port output waveguides through which N light waves branched by the input branching means pass, respectively. Assuming i is a natural number equal to or less than N, a relative ratio of a filed amplitude of the light wave that passes through an i-th input port output waveguide of N input port output waveguides to connect to the output port is configured to be (N-1)!/[(N-i)!(i-1)!]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
