The device has a housing, a drive motor, a control device and a linear drive unit, where a driven member of the drive unit comprises connection links (10, 11) for coupling with a furniture component (14) to be adjusted or with an input member of an adjustable fitting. A force measuring unit associated to the connection links for static or dynamic determination of force transferred from the drive unit to the furniture component to be adjusted. The links is formed by a yoke and a bolt (12) to be inserted into the links. The force measuring unit is assigned or integrated to or in the bolt.
