<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device capable of taking suitable performance optimization measures regarding data transmission for each storage medium even in a case that no performance optimization measures are provided by a memory card. <P>SOLUTION: A recording/reproducing device 101 inputs and outputs data into and from a storage medium and comprises: a memory area 106 which stores storage medium characteristic information indicating the characteristics of each storage medium; and a control unit 104 which reads out, from the memory area, the storage medium characteristic information on the storage medium connected to the recording/reproducing device, and controls data input/output operations with the storage medium based on the storage medium characteristic information thus read out and storage medium control principle information indicating the control principles of the storage medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
