摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not an abnormality occurs in a high pressure EGR device and a low pressure EGR device, respectively, even in the case where either the high pressure EGR device or the low pressure EGR device cannot supply an EGR gas by alone. <P>SOLUTION: An abnormality detection apparatus has a high pressure EGR device that supplies a high pressure EGR gas from an exhaust passage located at the upstream of a turbine to an aspiration passage, and a low pressure EGR device that supplies a low pressure EGR gas from an exhaust passage located at the downstream of the turbine to the aspiration passage. The apparatus determines whether or not an abnormality occurs in one EGR device when the EGR gas is supplied from the EGR device, and if the EGR device does not have abnormality, the EGR gas is supplied from both of the EGR devices. At this time, the apparatus open-loop controls an EGR valve of the EGR device and also determines whether or not an abnormality occurs in the other EGR device, based on an opening degree of an EGR valve of the other EGR device when the EGR valve of the other EGR device is feed-back controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
