<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument toy capable of outputting a sub-melody synchronized with a main melody in response to a manual operation of an operation unit. <P>SOLUTION: In an electronic musical instrument toy 100, a control section 21 as a sub-melody performing section allows a sub-melody corresponding to sub-melody data stored in a melody data section 23a in a storage section 23 to be synchronized with the main melody to output the sub-melody together with the main melody for a predetermined period, in response to hitting operations of hitting surface areas 11a, 11b and 11c on a hitting section 11 as an operation section, thus providing active performance.
