APPARATUS FOR MEASURING QUANTITY OF MICROBES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for measuring quantity of microbes that can measure quantity of microbes in a sample solution simply and quickly with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for measuring quantity of microbes includes: a detector of background light for detecting light emission of a sample solution as background light, where an ATP light emission reagent that reacts with ATP to emit light is added to the sample solution; a reagent adding mechanism for further adding a predetermined amount of the ATP light emission reagent to the sample solution after detecting the background light; a microbe destruction mechanism for melting or destructing cells of the microbes in the sample solution before or after further adding the ATP light emission reagent after detecting the background light; and a detector of microbe-derived light for detecting light emission of the sample solution in which the ATP light emission reagent is further added and the process for melting or destructing the cells of microbes is performed.
