<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type working machine having a high workability in both a moving work and various works other than the moving work. <P>SOLUTION: The walking type working machine 10 includes: a power sources 12L and 12R; a travelling parts 13L and 13R; operation handles 14L and 14R; a travelling preparation lever 41 for performing switching operation of the travelling part to switch to an on-state to be travelable by displacing the travelling part to be the on-position only when an operator holds both operation handles; a lever holding operating mechanism 50 for operating the travelling preparation lever to hold in the on-position as it is; an on-position detecting part 61 for detecting that the travelling preparation lever holds the on-position by the lever holding mechanism; and a speed regulating part for regulating the travelling speed of the travelling part not to exceed the speed limit by receiving the detection of the on-position detecting part.
