The clamping apparatus (2) has a tensioning roller (3), which is brought in a portion (5) of traction element (6) of the traction drive (1), where another tensioning roller (4) is also provided. The former and the latter tensioning rollers are operatively connected by a Bowden cable. An independent claim is also included for a traction drive of an internal combustion engine.
