VIDEO DECODER AND METHOD FOR VIDEO DECODING USING MULTI-THREAD

PURPOSE: A video decoder based on a multi thread and a decoding method thereof are provided to improve decoding process performance and satisfy data dependence according to H.264/avc standard. CONSTITUTION: A process module(200) generates a (4-1)-th thread(241) and performs a first process in a fourth area. The process module generates a (4-2)-th thread(242) and performs a third process in a second area. The process module generates a (4-3)-th thread(243) and performs a second process in a third area. When the first area is decoded, a first memory bank(310) stores decoding data of the first area. After the first area is completely decoded, the first memory bank is reused for decoding the fourth area.
