METAL ION SUPPORTING TITANIUM OXIDE PARTICLE HAVING EXPOSED CRYSTAL FACE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium oxide particles responsive to a wide wavelength range from the ultraviolet region to the visible light region and exhibiting high catalytic activity even with a light source in an ordinary living space such as solar light, an incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp, a photocatalyst comprising the titanium oxide particle, and a method for producing the titanium oxide particles.

SOLUTION: There is provided a metal ion supporting titanium oxide particle having a transition metal ion face-selectively supported on a titanium oxide particle having an exposed crystal face. The titanium oxide particle having the exposed crystal face is preferably a rutile-type titanium oxide particle or an anatase-type titanium oxide particle.
