<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brick masonry structure using mortar to hold stacked bricks, which exhibits high earthquake resistance without use of reinforcing bars or the like in the bricks, or with mortar and bricks alone. <P>SOLUTION: A brick masonry structure 7 comprises a ladder-shaped reinforcing metal fitting 5 fixed within a mortar 6 at a joint part and an L-shaped joint metal fitting 4 having a threaded part at an end thereof, of which threaded part is fixed to a building main body and the other end is fixed within the mortar. The entire brick masonry structure 7 is thus firmly supported with a building main body through the joint metal fitting 4. A brick 1 is a fired brick made from Sumas Mountain clay in Canada having through-holes, and the mortar 6 is a mortar cement type S according to Standard of Canada A3002. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
