A bistable magnetic actuator for switching device comprises a bistable electromagnet comprising a stationary part of magnetic core with actuating and disconnection coils, at least one constant magnet and movable part of the magnetic core capable of connection thereof with an switching device actuating mechanism, an apparatus for bistable electromagnet control, capable of connection of actuating and disconnection coils to at least one DC source or rectified current source.
