The method involves laying a foil sheet (1) with protruding edges on a plastic box (2). A mold (3) is retracted in the plastic box, where the mold is adjusted at an opening of the box. Edge sections of the foil sheet are protruded on the periphery of the mold, and are sealed on an upper edge (5) of the plastic box by a sealing tool (4). An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for sealing a stackable and reusable transport and storage box by a sealable protective film.
