PURPOSE: A tilting control system of a railway vehicle and a method there are provided to produce a tilting angle using the processed signal by processing the signal detected with a lateral acceleration sensor within a horizontal acceleration range. CONSTITUTION: A tilting control system of a railway vehicle and a method there comprises a lateral acceleration sensor and a tilting sensor controller. The lateral acceleration sensor detects the horizontal acceleration information of a railway vehicle. The tilting sensor controller obtains the mean value of a plurality of values sampling the horizontal acceleration information. The tilting angle is produced using the mean value. The time to obtain the mean value is constant after filling the set-up sampling number for the initial mean value.
