Disclosed are: a transparent conductive film which exhibits excellent resistance stability under high temperature and high humidity conditions and excellent pen input durability when used in a touch panel; and a method for efficiently producing the transparent conductive film. Specifically disclosed is a transparent conductive film which is obtained by providing a transparent conductive coating film on at least one surface of a transparent plastic film base. The transparent conductive film is characterized in that the transparent conductive coating film contains, in addition to indium oxide, at least an average of 0.1-5% by mass of tin oxide and an average of 0.1-5% by mass of a substance that is selected from a group of specific substances. The transparent conductive film is also characterized in that the transparent conductive coating film has a specific resistance of from 4 × 10-4 O·cm to 2.5 × 10-3 O·cm.
