<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing an occurrence of an image defect, while preventing a misalignment of a fold position provided at a downstream side of a nip of a slide sheet, and an occurrence of sag or corrugation on the slide sheet, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device comprises: a heating rotating body (51); an endless belt (53); a plurality of rotating body wound around by the endless belt; drive means for rotating the heating rotating body or the endless belt; a fixed pressing member (54a) which presses the endless belt toward the heating rotating body; and a slide sheet (56) covering the fixed pressing member. The endless belt is pressed against the heating rotating body to form a nip area, and an image formed paper is then passed through the nip area to fix the image onto a paper. In the fixing device, a fold is formed correspondingly to a projection of the fixed pressing member on a downstream side of the slide sheet nip area, a upstream side end of the slide sheet nip area is fixed by a pressing member (58a) on a surface facing to the heating rotating body of the fixed pressing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
