<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten-salt battery having a seal structure which is less likely to be affected by the deterioration of seal property in high-temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: A container body 6 has a bottomed tubular shape (square-pole shape) where a direction that plate-like cathode 1 and anode 2 oppose is set to be an axial direction. An opening bored in one side surface having a smallest area in a container body 6 is sealed with a lid 7 via a seal member (an O ring containing at least one of fluororubber, SBR, NBR and olefin-based resin, or a heat-resistant adhesive layer 201 ).
