<p>The present invention provides a clipper device (1) for cutting hair, comprising: first and second blade members (2, 3) adapted for relative reciprocating movement to generate a cutting action there-between; a motor (7) for driving the relative reciprocating movement of the blade members (2, 3), the motor having a rotor or shaft (22) which rotates about a rotational axis (R); at least one power cell (16) for providing power to the motor; and a housing (8) which encloses the motor (7) and the at least one power cell (16) and forms a body (9) or hand-piece configured to be held by a user during operation of the device. According to this invention, the body or hand-piece (9) has a squat shape and the at least one power cell (16) is arranged in the housing (8) beside the motor laterally spaced from the rotational axis (R). The first and second blade members (2, 3) typically extend from a side of the squat body or hand-piece (9), preferably adjacent a lower face of the body (9).</p> |
