<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling water producing device capable of reducing the power dissipation of the entire system by efficiently operating a cooling tower when cooling water, and to provide a method of controlling the same. <P>SOLUTION: A cooling water producing device includes: a storage unit 91 that optimizes switching of cooling operation of a cooling tower 70 and a refrigerator 80 such that energy consumption amount is minimized by adding a cooling operation of the refrigerator 80 to a cooling operation of the cooling tower 70 according to a combination of an outer air wet-bulb temperature and a cooling load and a flow amount of the cooling water primary piping, and stores a database showing a relative relationship among the outer air wet-bulb temperature, the cooling load, and the cooling operation of the cooling tower 70 and refrigerator 80; and a computing unit 90 that computes the outer air wet-bulb temperature and cooling load based on input values, which are temperature and humidity of the outer air, the cooling water temperature in outward piping 44 and inward piping 42 of the load 84, and the flow amount of the inward piping 42, and outputs control signals that control switching of cooling operation of the cooling tower 70 and refrigerator 80 and the flow amount of flow amount controlling unit from the database. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
