<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-in-polyhydric alcohol type composition wherein a specific oily component is dispersed stably in glycerol by using specific anhydrous silica without using a surfactant, and which is excellent in usability such as excellent extension. <P>SOLUTION: The oil-in-polyhydric alcohol type composition contains components (A)-(C) at specific ratios (1), (2): (A) glycerol; (B) hydrophobized anhydrous silica whose average primary particle size is ≤100 nm and/or hydrophilic anhydrous silica whose average primary particle size is ≤100 nm and whose BET specific surface area is ≤300 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g; and (C) an oily component whose average IOB is 0.1-0.4, not having a hydroxy group and a carboxyl group in a molecule.
