<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for binding a bag opening capable of gathering pleats to the bag opening of a packaging bag and binding the bag opening with a binding wire with a core wire having a circular cross section. <P>SOLUTION: The device 1 for binding the bag opening includes: a pair of up-down face to face arranged pleat-gathering frame bodies 10 and 20; the first air cylinder 61 and the second air cylinder 62 each driving these; a sending roller 31 sending the binding wire S with the core wire having the circular cross section pulled out from a reel 90; guide rollers 35, 36 and 37 each guiding the binding wire between the reel and the sending roller; a press roller 32 pressed to the circumferential surface of the sending roller; the third air cylinder 63 rotationally driving the sending roller; a deforming mold frame 40 driven by the fourth air cylinder 64 to cut and deform the binding wire; and a rotary shaft 51 driven by the fifth air cylinder 65 to twist the binding wire with a hooking nail 52.
