<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structural body which facilitates the clamping of a honeycomb sintered body, hardly occurs defect such as chipping and cracking and permits high-efficiency production. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structural body 100 is made of a ceramic block 103 made by uniting a plurality of honeycomb sintered bodies in each of which a number of cells are arranged side by side, via adhesive layers 101, wherein the honeycomb sintered bodies are composed of outer side honeycomb sintered bodies 120 located on the outer circumferential part of the ceramic block and inner side honeycomb sintered bodies 110 located on the inner side, which have shapes different from each other, a cross-section vertical to the longitudinal direction of the outer circumference includes at least a curved line part and a straight line part, of the outer circumference of the outer side honeycomb sintered body, the straight line part is parallel to at least one side of the adhesive layer between the outer side honeycomb sinetred body and an adjoining inner side honeycomb sinetered body and the adhesive layer between the outer side honeycomb sintered body and an adjoining outer side honeycomb sintered body, and the length of the straight line part of the outer side honeycomb sintered body is 5 to 20 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
