PURPOSE: A backlight unit and display apparatus are provided to prevent the applying situation of an electric current between a light source and a fixing cover by arranging an auxiliary reflection sheet between the light source and the fixing cover. CONSTITUTION: A light source module(13) includes light sources. A light guide plate(15) includes a light emission unit in order to guide light. A reflection sheet(17) reflects light in which is emitted by the light guide plate. An auxiliary reflection sheet(19) reflect the light to the reception light unit(15b) of the light guide plate. The auxiliary reflection sheet of a back light unit is included in the inside of a first fixing cover(21). A second fixing cover supports the back side of the light source module.
