<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor device, along with a sealing material used for the same, capable of suppressing rising of temperature of the sealing material of an optical semiconductor element while maintaining high luminance at the time of turning on an LED, being excellent in moldability. <P>SOLUTION: Relating to an optical semiconductor device that contains an optical semiconductor element and a sealing material that covers the optical semiconductor element, the sealing material includes a first sealing material in which the optical semiconductor element is embedded, and a second sealing material which is directly or indirectly stacked on the first sealing material, and containing a phosphor. The first sealing material and/or the second sealing material contains silica particles of which the voluminal medium particle size is 2-50 μm, the content of particles of particle size being 1 μm or less is 3 piece% or less, and the content of particles of particle size being 60 μm or larger is 3 piece% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
