<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitch inhibition method and a pitch inhibitor with which the adhesion of pitch on a paper making system for making paper from paper materials can be easily suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: A method for inhibiting pitch on a paper making system for making paper from paper materials includes a step for performing a treatment to restrict the increase of the calcium ion concentration in water system of the paper making system.
