<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule toner with high durability and fixability using a general-purpose molding resin, and to provide the producing method for the microcapsule toner. <P>SOLUTION: A microcapsule toner consists of core particles containing wax with a melting point of 60-80°C with an outer coating containing a general-purpose molding resin and a colorant. The general-purpose molding resin has a Rockwell hardness of 50 or more, or a Charpy impact strength of 2 or more.
