<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS time piece and its method that solve the following problems: if electric waves from position information satellites are weak, time needed for receiving GPS signals increases significantly; and if a GPS time piece is driven by a dry battery or a button battery, a prolonged time for receiving and processing GPS signals causes the battery to be rapidly consumed and shortens the life of battery significantly. <P>SOLUTION: Consumption of the battery is suppressed by detecting the signal intensity of GPS signals and prolonging the time interval between each reception of GPS signals for correcting time if the signal intensity is weak. In addition, by receiving only preamble signals and correcting an internal clock in the units of 6 seconds, time correction can be made easily even when the electric wave intensity is weak. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
