<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound of endosperm originating of a variety "first Yamabuki" in which the endosperm of a rice plant presents yellow, and a plant growth regulator containing the compound. <P>SOLUTION: The compound expressed by formula (1) (wherein R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>is hydroxy or the like; R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is hydrogen, hydroxy or the like; R<SB POS="POST">4</SB>is hydrogen, hydroxy or the like; R<SB POS="POST">6</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">7</SB>are each hydrogen, 1-4C acyl or the like).
