<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently manufacturing an optical article with an antifouling film with sufficient water repellency and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an optical article, which is a method of manufacturing an optical base material and an optical article with an antifouling film on the base material, includes a step of forming the antifouling film by vapor-depositing a mixture without activating the base material, wherein the mixture contains a first fluorine-containing silane compound having a number-average molecular weight of 800 to 8,000 and a second fluorine-containing silane compound having a number-average molecular weight of 100 to 800, whose content of the first fluorine-containing silane compound is 15 to 85 mass% based on the total weight of the first and second fluorine-containing silane compounds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
