<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost hydraulic auto-tensioner allowing a stable restart of an engine of an idle stop-adaptable vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In this hydraulic auto-tensioner, a rod 21 is inserted into a cylinder 7 filled with hydraulic oil therein, a plunger 22 provided in a lower end part of the rod 21 is slidably fitted in the inner diameter face of the cylinder 17 with a leak gap 24 therebetween, a pressure chamber 25 is formed below the plunger 22, and a reservoir chamber 26 is formed above the plunger 22, a path 28 communicating the pressure chamber 25 with the reservoir chamber 26 is formed in the plunger 22, the path 28 includes a check valve, a return spring 31 energizing the cylinder 17 and the rod 21 in an extending direction is provided outside the cylinder 17, and size of the leak gap 24 is set such that a leak down time when a load of 980 N is imposed on the plunger 22 becomes 0.65 s/mm or above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
