PURPOSE: A lithium titanate aggregate and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to easily control the nanosize of lithium titanate by using a solvent with various number of ethylene oxide chains as a reaction field. CONSTITUTION: In lithium titanate aggregate, the sizes of discrete first particles are between 80 and 310nm. The discrete first particles are in a sphere form. The content of the first particles of 55-85nm size are 55-75% of entire particles. The lithium titanate the single phase of Li_4Ti_5O_12. The sphericity of the first particles in the sphere form is more than or equal to 0.98. A method for manufacturing lithium titanate includes the following: A solvent containing ethylene oxide chains, lithium, and titanium are mixed. The mixture is dried to eliminate the solvent. The dried mixture is thermally treated.
