The drawbar guided industrial truck (1) has a traction drive, particularly an electrical traction drive, where the maximum driving speed of the traction drive of the industrial truck is limited in dependence of a position of a drawbar (15) with short drawbar or with long drawbar to different maximum values in pedestrian operation. The maximum driving speed of the traction drive of industrial truck is limited dependence of a folded position or a folded up position of side bracket (9) to different maximum values in passenger operation.
