The absorber (1) has two front side end bases (2) that are turned away from each other, and a cover (3) circulating in a circumferential direction in a closed manner. An inlet pipe (5) extends through the cover into a sound absorber interior (8), and is fastened at the cover, where the inlet pipe is provided with a cone (10). A sound absorber insert (4) includes an intermediate pipe (14) with a counter cone (11), where the cone and the counter cone are engaged with each other. The inlet pipe is supported at the insert under axial pre-loading (13) by the cone cooperating with the counter cone. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sound absorber for an exhaust system of an internal-combustion engine of a motor vehicle. |
