PURPOSE: An iris recognition system, method thereof, and wireless communication apparatus security system using the same are provided to reduce the time for iris recognition by extracting an inner and outer boundary based on a virtual radius which is painted from the center of a pupil. CONSTITUTION: A normal iris image is selected among images which are captured by an image input apparatus(ST110). An inner boundary surface is created in an intersection point where a pupil is connected to an iris. An outer boundary surface is created in the intersection point where the iris is connected to a sclera. The inner boundary surface and the outer boundary surface are extracted from the image(ST140). The characteristic value of the iris is extracted by normalizing an iris area(ST160). A rotation code about an iris image is extracted and stored using iris characteristic values(ST170). |
