Transitional coupling for matching couplings of different types

The coupling (1) has a retainer retaining a tow hook (50) of a clutch. A height adjustment device includes a towing eye (14) connected with a clutch housing (2). The towing eye is arranged relative to the retainer such that an interference of the tow hook in the retainer and in the towing eye is formed while inserting the coupling into a plane hole of the tow hook in a common process. The towing eye is connected with the housing by mechanics, so that the towing eye is movable relative to a pull bow (8) in a longitudinal direction (L) of the coupling for height adjustment of the coupling. The transition coupling is releasably connected with an automatic central buffer coupling such as Scharfenberg(RTM: fully automatic coupler) type central buffer coupling.
