Method and device for predicting the surface topography of tissue paper

The method involves recording a surface topography of a structured sieve i.e. through-air-drying (TAD) sieve. A surface topography of a tissue paper is simulated by data processing based on the surface topography of the sieve. An algorithm utilized for the simulation is calibrated based on comparison of the simulated surface topography of the paper with the surface topography of the paper. The simulation of the surface topography of the paper is performed by using the calibrated algorithm based on the surface topography of the sieve for prediction of surface topography of the paper. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for predicting surface topography of a tissue paper (2) a computer program product comprising instructions to perform a method for predicting surface topography of a tissue paper (3) a device for predicting surface topography of a tissue paper.
