PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition having good curing reaction characteristics, scarcely forming wrinkles when cured, having high heat resistance and high hydrolysis resistance, and therefore being useful for an optical waveguide whose propagation characteristics do not deteriorate upon a change in ambient conditions and a long-time use. SOLUTION: The curable resin composition is one comprising an alicyclic epoxy resin (A) having a cycloaliphatic skeleton and one or more epoxy groups in the molecule, a polyol (B) having a molecular weight of not less than 400, and an actinic energy ray-sensitive catalyst (C), wherein the polyol (B) is a compound having a main chain comprising carbon-to-carbon bonds or a liquid polycarbonate polyol.
