PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of taking out light when three-dimensional photonic crystal is used, and to provide a light source apparatus provided with the light emitting device. SOLUTION: The light emitting device is provided with an active medium, a resonator for confining light emitted from the active medium and having a first wavelength within a three-dimensional space, and a wavelength conversion medium for converting the wavelength of the light having the first wavelength into a second wavelength. In this case, the active medium is arranged in the three-dimensional photonic crystal locally or periodically and the wavelength conversion medium can be constituted of a non-linear medium.
