Centrifugal oil separator for an aircraft engine

The separator (3) has a rotary hollow body provided with a metal foam structure (4) and a high-voltage discharge electrode (5) that is arranged upstream to the metal foam structure. The metal foam structure and the high-voltage discharge electrode are integrated into a hollow-shaped engine shaft (2). Energy is transferred to the high voltage discharge electrode in a transformatory manner. The foam structure is formed from a Retimet(RTM: metal foam material). A collecting housing is provided for accommodation and recirculation of separated oil in an oil tank.
